Kristin is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She was raised in the surrounding Killeen area where she went onto graduate from Copperas Cove High School in 2006. Kristin then obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Austin in 2011 and obtained her Master of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2020. Being a fresh graduate with the best skills at hand, Kristin adds value to Vital Care Family Practice by lending help to her peers and patients.
As a Registered Nurse, Kristin began her budding professional career 10 years ago at Baylor Scott and White as a charge nurse on a very busy medical/surgical floor. She enjoyed the intensity of work and the intense work hours ignited the passion in her further. Several years down the line, Kristin began working at Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville, TX where she created the Care Transitions Program for patients and their families in an effort to ensure the safety of patients upon discharge from the hospital setting. She soon learned that management protocols that were given out to patients and attendants at the time of discharge held more value than anything else. They played a crucial role in improving the quality of life patients were given after being provided with medical interventions in a hospital setting. Her Care Transition Program gained a lot of recognition by seniors and colleagues alike. After Kristin obtained her Nurse Practitioner license, she worked in the home health setting. Kristin is also certified in aesthetics by the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and Surgery.
In her spare time away from the health care setting, Kristin enjoys spending time with her husband, Rafael and daughter, Myla. They enjoy going to the gym together as a family and being an integral component with their daughter’s competitive dance team.
